OSSU Course Curriculum - ExamWRITER
OfficeMate Software Solutions University (OSSU) features live, online affordable courses for clients who want to focus on specific topics or modules in OfficeMate, ExamWRITER, and iPoint VTO. OSSU 101 Introduction & Implementation(Prerequisite to all classes.)
This course is a private introduction with the owner of your OfficeMate Suite software or key staff members to learn more about the OSSU and Customer Care departments. This course marks the beginning of your training process and provides you with a quick overview of OSSU iCoach courses and iTrain videos, helps you understand the OfficeMate Software Solutions’ Customer Care’ guidelines, informs you about what you can expect from OSSU iCoach trainers and Customer Care Representatives, and instructs you on how to access the various help tools available in the OfficeMate Suite. This course is approximately 45 minutes in duration.
Post Training Task List
In this course you will learn different ways to open an exam record and add pretest findings to the exam. This course is approximately 1 hour in duration and covers some information in the “Creating, Modifying, & Viewing EMRs” chapter in the ExamWRITER Getting Started Guide.
In this course you will how to document refractive findings, create a lab order for OfficeMate, and navigate through menus and sub-menus in ExamWRITER. This course is approximately 1 hour in duration and covers some information in the “Creating, Modifying, & Viewing EMRs” chapter in the ExamWRITER Getting Started Guide.
In this course you will learn how to code exams and select ICD-9 and procedure codes manually and with the Auto Code feature. We will discuss the differences between closing and finalizing exams and explore the printing options available for letters and prescriptions. This course is approximately 1 hour in duration and covers the “Selecting Diagnosis & Procedure Codes,” “Finalizing Exams,” and “Printing EMRs” chapters in the ExamWRITER Getting Started Guide.
In this course you will learn the benefits behind building and using templates, as well as the different types of templates that can be created. This course is approximately 1 hour in duration and covers some information in the “Getting Started” chapter in the ExamWRITER Getting Started Guide.

This course is available for all clients at no charge. When you register for the class, you will have the opportunity to submit three questions for discussion during the class.
